My method of painting is to walk and record what I see in sketches scribbles and colour notes.

This is done at a gentle reflective pace, often on my familiar dog walking routes on The Downs and by the sea. – then it’s canvas and paint time. One of my recurring themes is to explore a moment within a wider view.

To achieve this I use a personal colour and mark making short hand with acrylic paints. I usually paint energetically on a couple of paintings at one time. This is to stop myself from becoming too precise about any one image.

I enjoy the physical element of painting and having fun splashing around with paint and water.
